SuperEval Announces New Collaborative Partnership with the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) to Support Superintendent Evaluations and Governance Leadership

Olympia, WA – December 2025

SuperEval is pleased to announce a new collaborative agreement with the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA), the statewide organization representing all 1,477 locally elected school directors across Washington. This collaboration will raise awareness of the SuperEval platform and provide Washington school boards with access to two of WSSDA’s superintendent evaluation instruments, now offered exclusively through the SuperEval digital platform.

WSSDA exists to empower school directors to govern with excellence and advocate for Washington’s students. Guided by its mission to build leaders through the tools, knowledge, and skills needed for effective governance, WSSDA supports board-superintendent teams with professional learning, policy services, training, and resources that strengthen decision-making and improve outcomes for students.

SuperEval will now host two WSSDA-designed superintendent evaluation instruments:

Washington Standards-Based Superintendent Framework©
Developed jointly by WSSDA and the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA), this framework provides a detailed, standards-aligned structure for superintendent evaluation across eight comprehensive leadership standards. For each of the eight leadership standards, the instrument includes themes supported by descriptors of professional practices providing the basis for reflective practices and meaningful conversations.

WSSDA Strategic Goal-Centered Superintendent Evaluation Framework
This newly developed evaluation framework is aligned directly to district strategic goals. It guides boards and superintendents in connecting leadership performance to the progress and priorities identified within local strategic plans, while reinforcing clarity, governance alignment, and continuous improvement.

These two evaluation instruments will be  available through the SuperEval platform as part of the new collaboration.
