When starting your evaluation of the superintendent in Step 3, a pop-up will appear allowing you to decide whether you would like to start with a blank evaluation or whether you would like to start with the responses the superintendent provided in his/her evaluation. Choosing to create the evaluation with the superintendent’s answers will provide you with an editable version of the superintendent’s self-evaluation, and you will be able to change the rating of any competency that you do not agree with. Choosing to start the evaluation from scratch will populate a blank version of the rubric used in the superintendent’s self-evaluation.

    School Board

If you wish to edit or continue your evaluation of the superintendent, please click into Step 3 on your dashboard, locate your name from the list of board members, and click the blue evaluation icon to the right. Any changes or edits you make will be saved automatically.

Only the board members have access to Step 4 (not the superintendent). This allows the board to work in executive session and see everyone’s comments for the first time.

    School Board

The board prepares the evaluation for the superintendent’s review and has the option to provide feedback in the following format:

  • Leave individual comments as is with the names attached.
  • Under the edit button, redact names. This not only removes the names from individual comments but also randomizes the comments for each area of professional practice being rated.
    • The board president/Trusted Agent is the only one with the “Edit” button in the consolidated evaluation and the ability to redact names.
    • The board president/Trusted Agent is also able to move the evaluation back to Step 3 (any changes made in Step 4 will be lost). A PDF of Step 4 can be created before moving the evaluation back.
  • Gain board consensus on what everyone is saying and write a single comment under each professional practice with one board voice. This is a decision on how the board wants to provide the superintendent feedback and, in many cases, how the superintendent prefers to receive this professional feedback.

    Superintendent

The superintendent will need to sign the evaluation first. Once the evaluation is signed by the superintendent, then the board president may sign. Click the blue Sign button within Step 5 to electronically sign the evaluation.
