NYSCOSS Webinar: Meaningful Evaluation Models for Administrators

October 19 @ 10:00 pm - 10:45 pm EDT

Presenters: Michael Horning, EVP, SuperEval and Timothy Oldenburg, Superintendent of Tonawanda City SD
Description: “Clear expectations create focus and , what we focus on, we accomplish.” This phrase embodies the importance of meaningful evaluation processes to focus our work in educational leadership. Meaningful leadership evaluations provide the opportunity to reflect on our work in leadership, assemble successes throughout the year, and advance district priorities and goals, while creating models of continuous improvement. Quality conversations and leadership development and growth should be one of the core outcomes of any evaluation process. This interactive, skill-building webinar explores various approaches and elements to create meaningful administrator evaluations while highlighting successes of such an initiative in the Tonawanda City SD. Leadership evaluations must transcend compliance with a goal to create an invaluable leadership development experience.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the models and elements in driving meaningful evaluations for administrators.
2. Reflect on their own process and determine approaches to improve current practices.
3. Listen to first-hand experiences from a superintendent employing these practices to support leadership development.
